SUPER SENSOR

Everyone loves their home, like cars, phones, lifestyles our home too changed their appearance and design incredibly, the huts, concrete houses, brick houses and so many like this in this modern present day we not only fix gadgets in our body we like to stick gadgets to our home too which works autonomously and connect with our phones and everything turned on and off with just a click which we call as “smart home”. Nowadays big tech giants like Apple, Amazon, and Google started giving gadgets and sensors to convert a normal home to smart home. The major issues in that it’s not affordable by a middle-class man and even though we bought it we need a constant high-speed internet connection to make those gadgets work efficiently. To make this cheap and affordable a company named CMU has come with the product called super sensor and the giant of IOT google too funded this project. Researchers at CMU’s future interfaces group developed this product which enables sensing of indoor environments with low cost and high efficiency. The system consists of many small sensors in a medium sized board with USB plug-in as shown in the picture. It uses machine learning algorithms to process the data it’s picking up and identifying various home activities such as turning on or off of taps, cooker, mixer and so on even though it is not connected to the internet. It senses every primary event, for example, if the tap is running it senses it and calculates how much the water is used and how long it is running. However, it is not fully developed as a product is still in the developing phase and the major problem in it is that we cannot control it via your app. Hope for the best innovation to come out soon.
